UPDATE May 1, 2021:  On April 29, 2021 – the Thai Government and Department of Health announced the Golf Quarantine will be suspended effective May 1, 2021 due to the current rise in COVID cases in Thailand.  We will update when further information is available for the restart of Golf Quarantine.

On December 7, 2020, the Thai Government and Department of Health approved GQ (Golf Quarantine) where international visitors can visit Thailand and complete their 12-day quarantine at an approved and certified golf resort. During the quarantine, golfers are able to play golf under strict safety and hygiene measures similar to those standards in ASQ (alternative state quarantine) hotels.  There are 6 golf resorts that have been approved to accept quarantine golfers.  Once certain criteria is met, there is a 12 day processing time from the golf course before booking can be finalized. More details will follow when available.

Golfers will still be required to have the following:

  1. VISA – please check with the Royal Thai Embassy in home country. There are 61 countries that are VISA exempt.  For those countries with a 30 days visa exemption – you are allowed an additional 15 days that you are in quarantine
  2. Certificate of entry (COE) to Thailand from the embassy before traveling to Thailand
  3. Fit to Fly Health Certificate issued a maximum of  72 hours prior to departure
  4. Negative COVID-19 test result issued a maximum of 72 hours prior to departure.
  5. Medical insurance covering all expenditures of medical treatment, including COVID-19, while traveling to Thailand in an amount of at least 100,000 USD (the insurance must cover the whole duration of stay in Thailand).

Each resort has specific rules and regulations – please see the details below. Some courses have not released package and pricing details.  We will update this information as it becomes available.

There are many questions surrounding Golf Quarantine.  Please read our FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section.  If you do not find answers to your questions, please input these in the inquiry form.

    • GolfAsian.com booked a 13 day golf package for our group. The package included 7 awesome courses from Bangkok to Hau Hin. In addition, they booked some day excursions from spa treatments, river boat cruises to Temple visits. From the moment we touched down a driver had a sign and the tour guide spoke great English and was very polite. I strongly recommend GolfAsian.

    • I was in Thailand and my golf was set by Mr. Win. There were some complications from my side as I had to change dates of trip. Mr Win was very flexible with that and organize all to new dates. I visited and played at almost all golf courses near Pukhet - all of them in very good condition. Some of them are not really for higher HCP player... I would not hesitate to organize my next trip with Mr Win !
