Welcome to the February issue of the Asian Golf Insider, the source for news-breaking information about golf in Asia. Also, unique golf-playing tips for Southeast Asia's tropical environment and our latest tournament offers are all parts of this newsletter.
Given your questions concerning the new Thailand entry without quarantine programs, I have summarized the most accurate information available for your convenience:
There are two quarantine-free programs available for entering Thailand.
1) The Sandbox program continues and now includes Phuket and Pattaya golf destinations. Other sandbox destinations like Hua Hin and Chiang Mai are under discussion. Sandbox programs require seven nights in an approved hotel and two PCR tests at the airport or designated clinic. Many hotels participate in the program.
2) The Test & Go program goes into effect on February 1, and all applicants must show proof of hotel booking on Day 1 and Day 5. Golfers are free to travel anywhere between these two days. There are only limited hotels set up for the program, and most are in Bangkok, with more planned in the following weeks.
The Test & Go program covers Hua Hin, and our major golf tournaments in March and May are proceeding and filling up fast.
Golfasian assist golfers with the entry documents required for the Thailand Pass approval. The system sounds complicated but is relatively easy and efficient. We are here to answer all travel questions and make for seamless entry. Golfasisan is also up to date on flight schedules and can suggest international carriers with the best service, rates, and schedules.
Outside Thailand, Cambodia, and Dubai welcome vaccinated travelers without quarantine. More destinations plan to relax entry requirements in the coming months. Additional country-specific information is below, and Golfasian is available in each location to provide additional breaking information.
I thank those who recently replied to me and provided phenomenal trip ideas. Please keep the suggestions flowing. The entire Golfasian team looks forward to working with you on upcoming golf travels. Regardless of when governments allow cross-border travel, your curated golf experience will be ready to go and you are that much closer to your dreams.
I hope to see everyone as soon as international golf travel resumes. Until the next month, happy golfing!
