Welcome to the August 2022 issue of the Asian Golf Insider, the source for news-breaking information about golf in Asia. Also, unique golf-playing tips for South East Asia's tropical environment, announcements of golf travel promotions, and fantastic upcoming tournament information are all parts of this newsletter.
This year's summer is hotter in Europe and the USA than in SE Asia; that's weird. Over here, things are back to normal. Tropical afternoon showers cool things down, and morning play works well. Fairways are green and uncrowded.
Asian golf tourism is in a transition season, with low prices and promotions continuing for the next three months. I have always said there's no better time to get away for some summer golf in Asia than right now during August and September.
On the events side, two majors are coming up in September. The Pattaya Men's is September 4-10, and the Vietnam World Masters is back in Danang September 11-17. Both tournaments are practically sold out, so register your interest as soon as possible, and we will try to accommodate you. Also, check out our complete and ongoing Asian golf tournament calendar. Each golf tournament allows amateur golfers to participate in professionally organized golf events that both challenge one's golf skills in a fun setting and provides excellent networking and new friendship building opportunities.
Whether the never-ending smiling Thais, sincere Vietnamese, diverse Malaysians, or the polite Balinese, our staff locals make every golfer on their fairways feel like their 'Royal Guest.' I will guarantee you, who are the beneficences of this Royal Golf Experience, will appreciate your trip with us not only during your travels, but also after you return home and start planning your next Asian golf experience.
Once again, Golfasian has been nominated for the 2022 World Golf Awards. If you have travelled with us before and appreciate our service, please be so kind and cast your vote here. Every single vote counts and we thank you very much in advance.
Complete full-service itineraries created for your specific travel preferences, expectations, group size, and budgetary requirements are our specialty. Please get in touch with us anytime for a competitive quote.
Until the next month, happy golfing!

DESTINATION OF THE MONTH: BALI
Bali the “Island of the Gods” is one of the highest quality golf destinations in Asia. Golf in other places may be similar, but Bali, with the surrounding beauty of the ocean, mountains and unique island culture, provides you with a truly unique and authentic golfing experience.
A golf holiday in Bali is like a dream come true. Bali National in Nusa Dua hosted the 1994 Asian Dunhill Masters, was voted by Fortune Magazine as one of Asia’s top five golf courses in 1997, and since its 2013 renovations stands out as the king of Bali golf.
Bali’s other courses have had their share of accolades too. New Kuta Golf Club hosted the 2009 Asian Tour Indonesia Open and is one of the finest links courses in Asia. Bali Handara Country Club, located high in the mountains was ranked in the top 50 courses in the world in 1980 and is the only course in the world that plays inside a crater of an extinct volcano. For a quick round, Bukit Pandawa Golf & Country Club is one of the best 18-hole executive courses in the world.

COURSE OF THE MONTH: Bali National Golf Club
A Robin Nelson and Rodney Wright designed Hawaiian-styled golf course, Bali National Golf Club re-opened in 2013 after undergoing extensive renovations. Being located at the southern tip of the island puts Bali National near many of the top hotels. It is only a short 15-minute drive by new 4-lane tollway from the Bali International Airport.
The Bali golf course now features new Paspalum turf, with scalloped bunkering lining most fairways and elevated greens. Many of the newly routed holes have lengthened to championship distances as the course now plays to over 7100 yards from the tips.
