Gaya Island Resort is only fifteen minutes from Kota Kinabalu and the resort is an environmental sanctuary settled in the hillside of an ancient rainforest with a spectacular view of Mount Kinabalu on the horizon. The resort's architecture compliments Sabahan elements and all villas and suites use local supplies and merge harmoniously with the natural environment while villa decor are designed with a modern elegance. The Resort is dedicated to use ecologically-sustainable practice and therefore it is a walking resort and only allows vehicles for operational reasons.
