Based in Cambodia, Win has been keeping us up-to-date with all the latest news. Cambodia was among the first countries in the Southeast Asian region to reopen, with Golfasian at the ready to provide travel services for our clients. What incredible news! No more quarantine, no more testing and no more restrictions on Cambodia holidays. Thanks to the Ministry of Health of Cambodia for paving the way to invite all travelers and holiday-makers by lifting all limitations, including both pre-departure PCR testing and on-arrival rapid testing. Visa on arrival has returned to normal. Grab your travel gear and come play golf in Cambodia! Bryan was one of our first clients to visit Cambodia, and I played with him at the Vattanac Golf Resort’s West Course (opened October 2020). The West Course takes it cue from the East Course, featuring undulating fairways and testing paspalum greens. During your round, you will come across various water features and figures, including a model of the unique Khmer King Jayavarman VII and a depiction of the Terrace of the Elephants. Another exceptional feature is the Dragon Lake, at the point of convergence of the course, which presents its challenges as you approach the green. A golf cart with a GPS tracking system helps with accuracy. All you have to do is to check with your caddie for yards or meters. As standard, all carts are configured with yards. Make sure your caddy knows what you prefer. A tip from me? Listen to the caddies. They are well trained in reading the line, green speed and slopes. They will definitely help you enjoy your game. In early 2022, Vattanac launched its World Class Performance Golf Teaching and Fitting Studio and simulator rooms as part of its golf academy. It’s an excellent feature to rehearse the driving reach before you start your round. This West Course adds to the different golf choices in Phnom Penh. Golfers have the option to fit in golf at a range of courses, alongside visiting some of the key attractions of the city. Or how about this? Four-to-five rounds of golf in Phnom Penh, two rounds in Siem Reap and two additional rounds at the beachfront. From bustling Phnom Penh, to enchanting Angkor, followed by some unwinding on private islands – what else could you want? See you in Cambodia!
