For the first time, Vietnam is hosting a Formula 1 Grand Prix and the location is Hanoi, the capital city. They have built a very fast street style circuit and from 3rd-5th April 2020 the Formula 1 circus will hit town. The part temporary, part-permanent course winds around the Nam Từ Liêm district of the capital. Located next to the Mỹ Đình National Stadium, the circuit will be able to boast one of the longest straights on the calendar at 1.5 km (0.9 mi) in length.

French & Chinese Influence

Hanoi itself is also a fascinating city, steeped in history with its Chinese influence and its famous Old Quarter, reminiscent of French colonial power. The weather in April is cooler and there is less humidity so in between the racing, it is also the perfect time to sample some great golf courses in the region. Golf is still relatively new in the country; however, you do have several courses close by the city which are excellent. BRG Legend Hill Golf Resort, just 20 minutes from the airport, is in the foothills in the Soc Son District.
Sky Lake Golf ResortSky Lake Resort & Golf Club offer top class layouts, located 45 kilometers from central Hanoi, and is made up of two contrasting 18-hole courses – the Sky Course and the Lake Course.
Van Tri HanoiThere is also Van Tri Golf Club, 30 minutes from Hanoi, North Vietnam’s first exclusive private golf estate.

Side Excursion to Ha Long Bay

Ha Long BayApart from taking in the Grand Prix and golf in Hanoi, many visitors will make the side trip to Ha Long Bay in northeast Vietnam. It is famous for its emerald waters and thousands of towering limestone islands topped by rainforests. Junk boat tours and sea kayak expeditions take visitors past islands named for their shapes, including Stone Dog and Teapot islets. So, this April, the combination of fast cars, great entertainment, amazing sightseeing and top-class golf, can make your trip to this region, definitely something to brag about. Bucket List materiel for sure!
