Golf In Nha Trang – A Personal Destination Review
A personal destination review from Simon Mees General Manager at KN Golf Links Cam Ranh. Most golf enthusiast are probably aware of the surge golf in Vietnam has seen over the last few years, with no sign of this mini explosion slowing down in the near future. Numerous new projects are either close to fruition or in the early development stages and will surely help to strengthen Vietnam’s standing, as an emerging must visit golfing destination. As a golf professional and club manager it is great to be part of this expansion, having recently relocated from the Middle East to Nha Trang and the eagerly anticipated KN Golf Links – Cam Ranh, a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Nha Trang City. As the name suggests this Greg Norman designed course is a true links course, winding its way through impressive natural dunes, providing unexpected elevation changes and views out over the South Sea. Not only does the look and styling of the masterful design provide the player with the look and feel of links style golf but its presentation and condition will also ensure it plays how a true links should with hard an fast running fairways and short an tight approaches allowing the player a multitude of shoot options. Although it will provide many challenges one of the aspects that Mr. Norman is happiest with is that anybody can come out an play regardless of skill levels. With the addition of KNGL, the destination of Nha Trang will surely become an even more popular destination for the traveling golfer with three differing and unique courses to choose from. From my early experience of Nha Trang it will appeal to many different tastes and desires with a multitude of nightlife and variety of food options especially for the fish lovers. Adding to this there is an expansive array of accommodations to choose from with many new five star resorts on the beautiful Long Beach Cam-Ranh providing peace and tranquility or those located with in the city center with easy access to the aforementioned entertainment, there certainly is something to cater to all tastes and budgets. The unveiling of the new international airport also adds to the destination from an accessibility point of view with direct access from various regional hubs currently operational and many additional routes in the pipeline such as Bangkok, which I believe begins this November. Having left the scorching temperatures of summer in the Middle East, which are far from conducive to year round golf, I can happily say that the climate provides visitors with ideal golfing conditions almost all year round so add this to the variety and quality of the courses along the après golf, there really is no reason not to visit!
