At its annual marketing showcase at Belek, Turkey, this week, golf tourism’s global organisation, the International Association of Golf Tourism Operators (IAGTO), named the resort city of Pattaya as Asia and Australasia’s best golf destination for 2012. Thailand itself received IAGTO’s same premier award for 2010.

We just returned from a 15 day golf and cultural tour of Thailand. the golf courses were superb and the tours interesting and informative. Our recent trip to the Pattaya area for 6 rounds of golf was excellent, and went very smoothly. Golfasian's itinerary was well executed, and everything worked like clockwork. Our small party of 4 did a 4 day golf tour, 1 day at Thai Country Club in Bangkok, then 3 days in Hua Hin covering Imperial Lakeview Resort, Banyan and Black Mountain. Just returned from a great 2 week golf break in Vietnam (Hanoi, Ha Long, Danang, Ho Tram and HCMC) and generally the logistics etc were excellent with great attention to detail by GA. I've just completed the survey and made a few comments about what did go wrong and how perhaps a few things could be improved such as transport routings, driver wayfinding, caddie expertise, hotel ratings, etc. but generally an excellently organised trip and can't wait for the next one!!
