Jumeirah Golf Estate, Earth Course
Earth is a very long course – from the Championship tees, it is 7,675 yards – and while it is fun to go back and look at the shots the pros have to make, it’s best to choose a different colour to play from, unless you have unlimited golf balls and patience.
As you would expect, the changing rooms are very comfortable. Buggy rental is essential in the hotter months and for the long distances between holes. Take advantage of the GPS-enabled technology in the buggy which tells you when you are 150 yards from the pin and allows you to order food and drink on the course. With some 99 white sand bunkers, rolling fairways and contrasting deep red ochre landscape, the course is picture perfect. The clubhouse houses a restaurant and grill with both indoor and outdoor tables and a sports bar that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Earth course is home to the DP World Tour Championship, the culmination of The Race to Dubai and European Tour Season. Designed by Greg Norman, this 18-hole, par 72 golf course was voted the 82nd best course in the world in Golf Digest’s ‘World’s Top 100 Golf Courses’. It was also voted sixth place on Golf Digest Middle East’s ‘Top 10 Courses: 2018 Readers’ Choice’.
