St. Andrews 2000 Golf Club Description:
(challenging course with two par '6' holes)

Working with a spectacular, undulating natural topography, English-born golf course architect Desmond Muirhead has created one of Pattaya's most exciting golf courses. St. Andrews, built similarly to a Scottish links course, is located in Rayong, about 45 minutes from Pattaya and 2 hours from Bangkok.

The golf course offers a formidable challenge, even for low handicappers, playing at over 7700 yards to a par 74. St Andrews features elevated tees and greens, tight landing zones, split fairways, huge putting surfaces, and, while difficult to accept for the true golfer, two par 6's, over 800 yards each! The back nine, in particular, has significant elevation changes and views of the surrounding hillsides.

While aimed at more accomplished players, all Pattaya golfers should play this course. St. Andrews is an extremely tough test of golf from any tee, and the two par-6 holes are a bit much for the golf course purist. The additional long fairway shot demands concentration and course management skills.

The two par-6 holes (Nos. 4 and 13) measure 878 and 861 yards, respectively. Both holes are 'strategic' rather than penal. In particular, at hole 4, rock out-crops act as the backdrop, and three ponds are exploited to maximum to ensure that playing the hole is pleasing to the eye and challenges the golfer to play their shots over the water to have any chance for par.

The course demands power and accuracy, with the strategic positioning of hazards forcing the player to remain focused on each shot. Even one errant shot can be very costly. This Pattaya golf course requires every club's use and will be the subject of many stories about a challenging round of golf. Bring extra golf balls and a hand phone, and expect to be otherwise beaten up by this course.

St. Andrews 2000 shares the same facilities as the Rayong Green Valley and Silky Oak courses. The clubhouse makes for an excellent 19th hole to reflect on your round. Green fees are reasonable for Pattaya, including caddies and golf carts. If just for the bragging rights to be the first on the block to have played a par 6 (actually 2), it's worth it. For those looking for a Pattaya golf package, St. Andrews should be one of the included stops

"Obviously St. Andrews 2000 was picked, because the other courses nearby where no longer available on this sunday. The Course was ok. The Caddy was very helpful with limited english knowledge. The infrastructure overall and the Restaurant are terrible Overall No 8 of the trip"

    • Best golf tour service in Asia! We have been using them for our golf trips in Thailand before Covid, and it's great to be back again and the service is still as good as ever! Thanks a lot for the team.

    • Chris recommended I change my hotel accommodations and allow Golfasian to arrange my Bangkok trip and golf tee times. I'm so glad I did because the hotel, the transportation, and the four golf courses they arranged were excellent. I was in the Soi 11 area, so everything was within walking distance. I had a great time for my first visit to Thailand, and I will certainly use Golfasian again for my golf trip to Pattaya next year.

    • This is our second golf holiday organised by Golfasian. First was a trip to Thailand and our latest Vietnam. We can not fault the services provided by Golfasian, from the first email enquiry to the itinerary provide. Watches could be set for the pick ups and all drivers were very friendly, standards of hotels were excellent. All courses we played in both Thailand and Vietnam were excellent and some quite challenging. We would highly recommend using Golfasian and we will definitely be using them again. Thank you for making such a stress free holiday from start to finish

    • Decent service provider, but for the first time felt that they don’t care about client needs and try to sell the most expensive option by default

    • Thanks for yet another fabulous golf holiday in Thailand. This was our 6th and probably our best yet. This time we were a group of 18 visiting Hua Hin and Phuket. We all loved Banyan and Black Mountain (HH) and Red Mountain & Blue Canyon in Phuket. All the hotels we stayed at - Sofitel (Bkk) Centara (HH) & Angsana (Phuket) were fabulous. The transportation to and from the courses and additional transportation to other places of interest were on time and efficient. Lit who set up our programme and Bua our on-the-ground guide were enthusiastic and a pleasure to deal with. Everything went without a hitch, according to the schedule that Lit had assiduously set up for us. Thanks to Golfasian for their attention to detail and meticulousness. In doing so, you took the stress out of travelling in a large group where things can go horribly wrong very quickly. Because the planning was so thorough, you made everything enjoyable, stress free and fun. We're already planning for next year.
