Grand Prix Golf Club Description:

Grand Prix Golf Club is a well-conditioned golf course in Thailand’s Kanchanaburi Province that will take your breath away. The golf course automobile tie-in is evident by cars and banners perched over the course, which credit their auto company sponsors.

A vast open space with panoramic views of Burmese mountain ranges in the distance sets the stage for this masterpiece. A large river bisects the course and adds to the natural scenery. It takes around 30 minutes to reach the site from Kanchanaburi town or 2 hours from Bangkok.

Grand Prix makes excellent use of significant mounding and undulations through the fairways and greens. Many holes have split fairways offering golfers both a more challenging and a relaxing approach to the greens. Multi-tiered greens have lots of breaks, so it pays to select the correct club for each approach shot; otherwise, 3-putts or worse is likely.

The signature hole is the par-5 fifth. At 557 yards, this is the longest hole on the golf course. It is designed to follow the natural landscape and plays to a large elevated green protected by water on three sides. Three perfect shots played back-to-back still doesn’t guarantee par.

Facilities include a modern clubhouse and a top-class golf resort. Grand Prix Golf Club is one of the best golf courses in Thailand and is a must-play for all golfing in Kanchanaburi.

"My wife was keen to visit the Bridge over the River Kwai and the Hell Fire war museum so we combined our trip with a visit to these sombre but interesting World war II places with a round of golf. Must say wasn't expecting much being out in the countryside but Grand Prix Golf Club is a secret gem. Loved the exciting elevations, and unusual par 3's and tried to avoid their many bunkers. Their golf carts were fast and loved the way the owners had added some interesting sculptures and floral arrangements. Upkeep was top class. Add it to your bucket list!"

"Only open in 2011 and already this amazing course has hosted several major tournaments and is regarded as one of the top ten tracks in Thailand. Great opening hole 50 metres over the green and the fun starts here. Many bunkers, several water hazards, and undulating greens make this a very unique golfing challenge right in the countryside. The owner runs the Bangkok Motor Show and all holes are sponsored by manufacturers, so that pays for the maintenance which is first class. The clubhouse sits overlooking the hills of Mynamar and has incredible sunsets. Worth going there for sure."

Thanks for yet another fabulous golf holiday in Thailand. This was our 6th and probably our best yet. This time we were a group of 18 visiting Hua Hin and Phuket. We all loved Banyan and Black Mountain (HH) and Red Mountain & Blue Canyon in Phuket. All the hotels we stayed at - Sofitel (Bkk) Centara (HH) & Angsana (Phuket) were fabulous. The transportation to and from the courses and additional transportation to other places of interest were on time and efficient. Lit who set up our programme and Bua our on-the-ground guide were enthusiastic and a pleasure to deal with. Everything went without a hitch, according to the schedule that Lit had assiduously set up for us. Thanks to Golfasian for their attention to detail and meticulousness. In doing so, you took the stress out of travelling in a large group where things can go horribly wrong very quickly. Because the planning was so thorough, you made everything enjoyable, stress free and fun. We're already planning for next year.
