Anvaya Cove Golf Club

Ninety minutes southwest of Angeles City or 186km from Manila, the designers of this 18-hole course have found the perfect location in Morong Bataan to create a masterpiece. It is definitely worth the effort of driving there.

The 82-hectare course from Dale Ramsey is a true par 72 championship golf course, running across the Anvaya Cove. The layout has challenges but is also suitable for players of all levels, and Anvaya is ranked 7thamong all Philippine golf courses. 

The golf course aims to be as environmentally sustainable as possible by minimizing earth movements, saving mature trees, landscaping with endemic flora, and designing the fairways and tees so that the course feels natural.

The front nine has a heavily sloping layout that runs alongside a mountain ridge, while the flatter back nine runs alongside the seaside. Each hole has its personality and testament to the coexistence of great golf and the environment. Whether perched on an adjacent cliff above the sea or set high atop the rolling hillsides, the Anvaya Cove golf course has the best of everything.

Several holes run directly alongside the beach, while others are located in bluffs up to 30 meters above sea level. Golfers will have to negotiate thick jungle on many holes, while others play along ridges meters above sea level.

Hole eleven is a drivable par-four that looks out across the Subic Bay, while hole twelve, also a par-four, plays downhill to the beach. Hole thirteen is located on top of a bluff and features a peninsular green that falls off 30 meters into the ocean on three sides.

Like Laguna Lang Co course in Vietnam, Anvaya Cove uses native manila grass (Zoysia matrella) through the green, allowing for fast and firm conditions.

The resort's clubhouse is excellent, and guests can stay on-site at the Sea Breeze Verandas. The golf resort has extensive sports facilities, a pool complex, and elegant yet relaxed dining, lounging, and social spaces. The clubhouse's Asian Tropical architecture follows the same theme as the Anvaya Cove Resort but is distinct in its elevated location and panoramic views. The Clubhouse Veranda opens to dramatic views of the golf course, with the South China Sea and the Bataan mountain range in the distance.
