The Borneo Golf & Country Club is located about 70 kilometers from Kota Kinabalu or an hour's drive along the Beaufort Highway sitting on the edge of the South China Sea. This Borneo golf course is a classic Jack Nicklaus design that plays on a vast 900-acre site of lagoons, adjoining flatlands, waste areas and massive bunkers.

Nicklaus, undoubtedly, the world's greatest golfer and one of the most prolific and sought-after designers used a natural lagoon to dramatize the effect of the water carries on most of the holes on the front nine. The beauty of the surroundings makes it challenging to focus on golf while battling stiff ocean winds on the back nine. The lakes, strategic bunkers, fast greens and the ever-present wind with its 'semi-links design concept' all add up to make Borneo Golf & Country Club a good play for any golfer in Malaysia.

The on-site facilities include a clubhouse with pro shop and locker rooms, driving range, practice area, and two putting greens. Non-golfers can come along and swim, play a racquet game, or fish for some big ones at this Borneo golf club. An adjacent hotel is available for overnight guests; however, golfers in Malaysia should plan to return to one of the excellent and centrally located Kota Kinabalu resorts to take advantage of all of the area’s golf courses.

With a spectacular seaside setting and ever-present breeze, the Borneo Golf & Country Club is an excellent choice among the Sabah golf courses.

Golf Tour Packages in Kota Kinabalu

The first part of my trip was a golf trip that was changed significantly due my traveling companion change of plans. Bee handled all the changes, including changes to courses played and hotels in multiple cities, quickly and efficiently. The second part was holiday only with my wife and 2 friends. Golfasian handled our 3 country, 4 city visits exceptionally well. They arranged tours and quickly responded to several changes we made both before and during the trip. Drivers were prompt and all of them and our tour guides were excellent. I recommend Golfasian not only for a golf trip, but for anyone traveling to SE Asia.

Just completed a 10 day golf trip to Vietnam (12 golfers from Bunbury Golf Club, Western Australia). Played some of the best courses in Saigon area.
