Indah Puri Golf Resort

Indah Puri Golf Resort enjoys a good reputation as one of the most scenic Batam golf courses. The Ron Fream designed course opened in 1993, plays across 120 hectares, and challenges all golfers. Indah Puri location near to Batam Center and Sekupang and it convent for golfers traveling by ferry from Singapore.

The Batam course plays shy of 6,100 meters from the back tees. The turfgrass is a mixture of Bermuda and local cow grass which these days seem to be encroaching more and more on the course. Some holes run parallel to the beach while others dog-leg between lakes and jungle.

The opener starts with a blind shot to the fairway of this par-5 hole. The seventh hole is a standout requiring a drive over water off the tee and navigation around another water feature fronting the green. Another notable golf hole includes the par-5 eleventh along the sea and using split fairways. The course closes with a difficult and long par-4 with water down the right side playing to a multi-tiered sloping green.

Indah Puri’s clubhouse is huge but has seen better days. The restaurant serves up reasonably priced Indonesian food, and as with other Batam golf courses, there are full-service massage services available inside the locker rooms. On-site accommodations are available, but not recommended as many local hotel options in Batam Center offer a better location, standard, and value-for-money.

Indah Puri Golf Resort is a pleasant, picturesque, and challenging course. While not at the same level as the other Batam golf courses, it does offer good value in a covenant location.
