Opened in 2015, Hermes Golf Club is an 18-hole course laid out on 200 acres of rolling natural terrain. The short 6,600 yard layout is in average condition and has several tricked out holes which make it best suited for skilled golfers. Large ravines and cliffs frame many of the holes and also come into play to swart good shots from being in play. Another common theme is water that creates unnecessarily narrow openings to the greens juts into the fairways several times through the course.

Hermes Golf Club has several of these “exciting” holes. The par-4 seventeenth plays over 400 yards, is the longest par-4 on the course, and the signature hole. A good score requires a tee shot that negotiates the water which cuts in to the center from the right side of the fairway. The high cliff left frames the hole nicely, thus it’s signature appeal. However, the green is severely sloped from front to back which makes stopping the ball on the approach shot very difficult.

The temporary clubhouse is adequate for most needs as are the on-course kiosks. However, the permanent structure once completed will offer better service and more complete facilities. Hermes Golf Club is a choice among many nearby courses for golfers who looking for a decent course at a reasonable price. Carts are mandatory, so this cost must be factored in.

Having played most of the courses in the PATTAYA catchment area over the previous 5 months I found Parichat to the best of them all, it is a test yes,but with a little thought and a intelligent caddie the course is a pleasure to be on. The course was in a top condition with very good grass to all areas, very well maintained tee boxes and greens, the caddies were very pleasant and informative, the golf carts were new, good changing facilities,30 minutes from PATTAYA, very good value on the occasions I’ve played there.

Parichat is a really good course, if you are a good golfer. If you are not single figures, take a lot of balls, if you are single figures, youll need about 10.

The difficulty is everywhere. Water both sides nearly every tee shot, so your driving needs to be on point, although its not over long so you can use 3W or less. Some holes are quite strategic, so you need to have your course management going. Some holes have elevated greens that are difficult to hit. The greens are quite quick, and if you get the wrong side you can have some testy putts.

Highlights were the par 5 6th (or 7th), which has a really nice elevated green, and 11, which is a 590 yard par 5 that is extremely narrow and has a very small island green. The only weak hole was the last, which as a 440 yard par 5 with no Black Tee is a bad way to end. However, with some great promotions (1600B inc Caddy and Cart on a Saturday) and decent pace of play, if you are a good golfer, this course is a great test, and way better value than some more well known courses nearby.
