The first Cambodia golf course opened in December 1996. The Cambodia Golf & Country Club is located 33 kilometers, west of Phnom Penh. Set among 120 acres the 7000 plus yard Cambodia golf course was designed by Japanese and Taiwanese and lined by sugar palm trees, native fruit, and evergreen plants, flowers and rocks.

Nestled just an hour’s drive north of Phnom Penh’s bustling downtown, along National Road #130 in Chhveang Village, lies the exquisite Chhun On Golf Resort. This emerging golf haven, positioned conveniently within reach of the Royal Palace, National Museum, and the city’s myriad tourist attractions, is set to redefine the golfing landscape in Cambodia.
 
The resort, under the masterful design of Brian Curley from Schmidt-Curley Design, is developing two distinct 18-hole courses.

Garden City Golf Club opened in April 2013 and immediately emerged as one of the best golf courses in Phnom Penh. The par-72 golf course is laid out on 240 acres 15 kilometers northeast of downtown Phnom Penh. The course conditioning from using Seashore Paspalum turf and operations management consulting by IMG is excellent and comparable with the top courses in the region.

Grand Phnom Penh Golf Club is a private members club and part of the Grand Phnom Penh International City.  The golf course is located 20 minutes northwest of Phnom Penh and on the way to the airport. With little development away from the city, the air and climate tend to be fresher and well-suited for golf.

Close to the capital of Phnom Penh and only 8 kilometers from the Phnom Penh International Airport is the Royal Cambodia Phnom Penh Golf Club. The 7,075-yard golf course is spread over 200 hectares and nestled amongst rice paddies and coconut palms. Being so close to the capital, it is a favorite with locals and expatriates.

Sitting on the outskirts of Phnom Penh, Vattanac Golf Resort includes two contrasting Nick Faldo designed 18-hole golf courses located 15 kilometers from the center of Cambodia’s capital. The East Course is publicly accessible, while the West Course is a private members layout.The par-72 East Course plays to over 7,400 yards and through scale models of pre-Angkorean structures including Preah Vihear Temple, Bayon Temple, and Angkor Wat.

The West Course at Vattanac Golf Resort is the latest to open in October 2020.  The West Course features lush paspalum fairways, greens, and dramatic bunkering designed by Sir Nick Faldo.  Vattanac owners have shown a passion for quality expressed in the year-round top maintenance of the course.
