Thanont Golf View & Sport Club

Thanont Golf View & Sports Club is situated on the outskirts of Bangkok and takes around 50 minutes to reach coming from downtown. Several large shopping malls in the area provide accompanying non-golfers who have a variety of things to do.

American golf course architect Bob McFarland designed the Thanont golf course. Water and a massive housing development surround the entire golf course, and while flattish has some exciting hole layouts providing a pleasurable round of golf to golfers of all abilities. Most holes require strategy on each shot to score well. Greens are OK but can be slow during the rainy season.

Several notable holes include five with island greens - holes 1, 2, 3, 7, 9, and 18. This starting hole is a monster 463 yard par-4. A long and accurate tee shot is needed to have a par chance and avoid the out-of-bounds left and large bunker complex to the right. The approach shot requires a long iron or fairway wood to a reasonably open green. The Bangkok golf course signature holes are the long par-4 9th and the par-5 18th.  At both holes, players have to negotiate a vast lake that protects the green.

Both holes finish with the green directly below the clubhouse, where a full range of available facilities, including two restaurants, an ample locker room, and a pro shop.
